Downloaded all data from http://finance.yahoo.com, because it seemed the
most reliable and complete source.
(Some historic data at http://www.nyse.com seemed to be incorrect: date 
 02/23/1966 occurs twice! Line 40; and date 12/08/1969 occurs twice! Line 967.)

The piece takes about 6 and a half minutes and is essentially 3-voiced:
Absolute closing prices (of the NYSE composite index, NIKKEI 225 and AEX)
are played (as Hertz) by 3 sawtooths, chronologically, on the background.
Along with that, (time-)differential closing prices are played (as Hertz) 
by 3 loud sinewaves.

The piece starts with NYSE-data from monday, januari 3, 1966.
Then, quite soon, NIKKEI-data (1984) and AEX-data (1992) enter, and, as the 
piece evolves, tempo is gradually slowed down, up to about the year 2000.
It ends with stock exchange data of friday, october 31, 2008.

The almost steady rhythm (1+1+1+1+3) is caused by the inserted off-days: 
saturday and sunday, and sometimes feast-days: the last tone may be held for 
3 or more 'days'. (After the year 2000 or so, 1 'day' takes 122 milliseconds.)
